Specimen Requirement: Collect 1 to 10 ml urine in sterile container.
If delay in processing keep at 2-8ºC.
Transport with ice pack.
Specimen Handling Instructions:
Collect 1 to 10 ml urine in sterile container. Refrigerate if delayed. DO NOT FREEZE.
Critical Value: Positive for CMV
Turnaround Time: 2-3 days from receipt

This is a laboratory-developed test which is interpreted qualitatively as positive or negative.
Additional Information: Testing is performed workdays, excluding statutory holidays.
Method of Analysis: Specimens will be tested using a laboratory developed PCR.
